London-based producer Cameo Blush returns with his second release of 2021, ‘Lucky’, out this Spring on Ross From Friends’ Scarlet Tiger label.
Also marking the second release for the label, Cameo Blush’s ‘Lucky’ EP leads with the anthemic titular track featuring pitched vocals nodding to early 90s hardcore records. Showcasing the depth of his productions across the EP, ‘§§§§§' follows in pacy and hypnotic style and the gritty, bass-heavy ‘Hubris’ rounds off the release.
John Dunk launched the Cameo Blush project in 2019 with the ‘Murky Waters’ EP on Nick Höppner’s Touch From A Distance label and debut live performance at Field Maneuvers. This was shortly followed by a remix for Athlete Whippet and key tour dates at Phonox and Corsica Studios. Earlier this year, Cameo Blush was the first artist to feature on new conceptual label ‘unknown untitled’ with his ‘In Cadence’ EP which was heavily supported by the likes of Moxie, CCL, Peder Mannerfelt, Disclosure and more.
Launched in January this year, Ross From Friends founded the Scarlet Tiger imprint after amassing a lot of music through back and forth with friends and people he met online. Each release will feature artwork from RFF’s photography archive.
This album sounds fresh, clear and bang on point.
uu001 can stand among the greatest in any electronic genre produced in the last 2 decades.
Truly an amazing first time listen
I regret missing the vinyl. phat_tony
All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
